My experience working at a design court has given me an invaluable experience because it gave me a vast amount of independence together with a brilliant responsibility and I can confidently state that it has been a success. I was quite fortunate to have substantial firsthand experience of the various sides of the process involved in a project. I got great mentors who pushed me to my limits and inspired me making more creative and that made me exceed my goals. At the end of my internship, I was part of the family and my designs could be termed as bright fun floral and fantastic.

Reflecting back to my internship days at Design Court, I went to Design Court with the aim and primary objective of developing my sewing skills with the aim of at least completing one garment a week. I was also aiming at getting experience in pattern reading and paper cutting through making a dress once a week and finally making a full dress every week, this would give me a comprehensive understanding of different fabric material which will enhance my skills in adjusting sewing machine based on the type of fabrics. Every day was a learning day and my skills were constantly in an improvement mode (Bolton & Delderfield 2018).
Moreover, I had an opportunity of sharing my ideas and fashions designs with the industry supervisor on a weekly basis. My industry supervisor would listen to my ideas and opinions; making my contributions into consideration; this highly boosted my confidence in myself. Furthermore, this enabled me to do more research on a weekly basis. From this I got to substantially improve on my designs I got a different point of view from the experts. To ensure that I remain creative and unique I was thinking out of the box evaluating different culture fashion designs and try to integrate different touch into my designs. Nevertheless, I aimed at making a colour combination for a dress at least every week, the colour combination I was using was that which could attract parents and children making the dress more marketable. All this was done with the aim of improving the kids’ fashion with the unique design that can remain relevant for a long time in the market (Williams, Woolliams & Spiro 2012).
Amongst my major aims was to get to know the fashion industry with the perspective of an entrepreneur. I got to learn of the challenges and the struggle of the fashion industry. Furthermore, I also had the opportunity to know how to price a dress by ensuring the price is as the market rate and also the price be one which can sustain the business. Finally, I was also able to make an estimated cost of each weekly made a dress on the bases of expended time using materials and current expenses (Williams, Woolliams & Spiro 2012).
Overall, I can conclude that the internship program instilled confidence in me and gave me the experience necessary to remain competitive in the market. It opened my eyes and now I have an in-depth understanding of the industry. I am well prepared for the challenges now that I will have a proactive approach when tackling the challenges. I am more daring with designs and my creativity level has immensely improved. However, the internship period was a little bit shorter as there is much to learn in the textile industry but I thank my colleagues who were constantly ready to direct and give me professional guidance at the time of need (Bolton & Delderfield 2018).

ABSTRACT
The greatest tool for nurses is information. They record information, retrieve it and often apply it to ensure efficient care for their patients. The nursing process is often made difficult if information is not recorded properly or cannot be traced. Informatics in nursing brings on a generally ideal way for nurses to record information and retrieve it. Nursing informatics brings together the many roles of the nurse and makes an expert out of each one. Once mastered, the systems provide an easy linkage to the patients and the other clinicians involved in the care of the patients. Hospitals are able to run smoothly, attend to more patients and improve the success rate of standardised care. The nursing skills are greatly improved and there is presence of greater job satisfaction. The systems are based on the success of project management systems, noting the similarities between projects and the nursing process.

Nursing Informatics is a discipline that integrates computer science, nursing science and information science in managing and communicating data, knowledge, information and wisdom in the practice of nursing (American Nursing Association, 2010). Given that provides of healthcare primarily communicate through notes in documenting the carts for patients, Nursing Informatics seek to improve the accuracy, timeliness and speed of patience charting continually, to make better patients care decisions. Nursing Informatics is important to the patients, nurses and the consumers because as health care delivery changes to include the greater use of information technology, Nursing Informatics will be vital in transforming the healthcare system. The informatics nurses are responsible for driving interoperable systems implementations within the organizations for healthcare delivery. THE FUTURE OF NURSING INFORMATICS
Topic Availability
This essay employed different search strategies to get the topic, resource literature and information. First and foremost, university library and online websites and libraries were used. Secondly, different search engines such as Google, was used in searching relevant information on the internet on different websites for online journal to access the relevant ones. To get the exact and the relevant articles or any online articles or journals needed, different data bases which had possibilities of obtaining the exact articles or the related articles were searched. The online database for the university was very much helpful when searching different articles since it was easy to access and free, unlike most online websites which are for commercial purposes and needed subscription which there was no need of subscription.
To begin the search, the researcher started the search with the most comprehensive data base that is Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (Wainwright, 2014). The search then continued to search engines such as British Nursing Index, MEDLINE. Moreover PubMed and NCBI were other major search engines which assisted with some of the relevant articles for the essay. These search engines were used because they contained most of the peer review articles and books of Nursing Informatics. To limit and narrow down the search my topic in the articles, internal searches of the databases was used by inserting full length of texts and searching the relevant articles from the list of journals displayed. According Watson (2012), in order to narrow down the search, limits were used in the data bases. To avoid “full text” limitation, one or two limits were used at a time, as there were chances of missing important articles. To narrow down the search for “Future of Nursing Informatics,” the researcher used research articles after the year 2010 in reader to find up to date research and to avoid outdated research articles. This brought about 371 hits from 1278, which was a fair number, not too broad and not too narrow. I did also similar searches on topics such as “what is Nursing Informatics,” “Transformation of Nursing Informatics,” “role of nurses in Nursing Informatics.” Saber and McCormick (2011) stated that it is important to use the exact specific words in search engines to get related articles. All data bases that are relevant were searched and scrutinized all the terms used in the search for alternative spellings or terms. Furthermore, assessment on the search strategy used was done to ensure that some relevant studies that could be a great source of information were not left out by being too specific. In data extraction, the factors considered included the following; study design, performing year, publication years, characteristics of the population of study for instance the geographical setting, variance and risk estimates and assessment procedures. The essay used different sources in the search strategy which include electronic data bases, conference abstracts, hand searching, and internet.
Information Availability
During the process of searching information about “the future of nursing informatics,” most of the information available were geared towards the health care professionals, and other sections of the information were to help the consumers in understanding their roles health care delivery. The essay sampled some of the available literature during the search on the topic and on the available resources and grouped them in three broad categories; involvement of patients in their care; Nurses updating their knowledge on Nursing informatics, challenges of nursing informatics in future. These broad categories summarized the focus of the topic for this essay.
The available information of the category of involving the patients during their care for the future of nursing informatics, many articles and journals discussed the need of the nurses of better engaging their patients in management of their health using the technology. This will ensure that they have confidence and knowledge necessary in taking control of their own health outside the healthcare settings. Empowering patients to improve their conditions from getting worse is important since it will enable the patients to control their health condition when at home away from the hospital setting. Moreover, empowering of the patients is important and helpful in making decisions when the nurses are not around to assist. Lastly, they are able to communicate with the nurses using technological devices like smartphones to ask questions and get assistance when at home (Carty, 2012).
On the category of “Nurses updating their knowledge on Nursing Informatics” to determine the future of Nursing Informatics, several articles discussed that the nurses have a duty and a role to advance their knowledge base to provide quality care to patients to provide high standards of care and practice all times, and also to keep their knowledge and skills up to date (Chinn, 2010).therefore, the future of nursing Informatics also lies on the willingness of the health care providers to update their knowledge base.
Lastly, on the challenges of Nursing Informatics in future, the essay found several challenges to the discipline such lack of personnel, lack of resources, management factors, resistance to change from the healthcare professionals amongst others (Chinn, 2010). Moreover, to the consumers, the essay found out that they pose a challenge to the future of Nursing Informatics especially for the patients who do not embrace or cooperate with the healthcare workers.

Nursing informatics eliminates paperwork which is prone to recording errors
Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a digital record used in recording the history of the patients, an aggregate serving as a multidisciplinary compilation across several sources or sources such as labs, hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, public health agencies and diagnostic imaging, and is available all the time (Chinn, 2010). Ball (2013) pointed out that EHRs offers improved rapid communication and documentation legibility (Baker, 2012). Moreover, it enables direct access to a wide range of data of the patients that is equivalent to going for clinical rounds. I have used EHRs where I work and it is becoming more common in the healthcare setting, and it is evident that they are contributing to the growth of the nursing profession. Some of the challenges that Ball and Hannah (2011) pointed out in EHRs are the challenge of understanding and demonstrating EHRs meaningful use, not having certified technology that is certified and capturing electronic data that is relevant as part of clinical workflows. Moreover, I have come across most health systems and hospitals that continue doubting their ability in meeting new HER standards mandated. This is echoed by a study done by Locsin (2011) which found out in a recent survey that 48% of healthcare leaders feel confident in the readiness of their organizations in meeting stage 1use requirements that are meaningful.39% indicated that they somewhat confident, 3% not confident at all, and 10% didn’t know their readiness level (Locsin, 2011).
That nursing informatics also enable productivity goals and cost savings
Perhaps the greatest benefit I have gathered from nursing informatics is the improvement of efficiency in work. I am able to get the information I need, when I need it and therefore progress the treatment of the patients. Care for patients is made easy because information is available. Further with the ease of work on the nurses and the nursing process in general, burnout and exhaustion become a thing of the past. Nurses are now able to meet their career goals, increase the number of patients in their care and provide the best care for the patients.
Nursing informatics enhance care continuity.
Normally when patients are discharged from hospitals, files are put away. If they chance to visit another hospital or even the same hospital under the care of a different doctor, it takes time to trace the file, understand the history of the patient and therefore make and implement the right care process. With nursing informatics, this will be a problem of the past. Information on patients can be accessed within seconds; care that that previously worked on the patient can be found and continued. With these simple processes, it is much easier to progress treatment of the patients without any drawbacks. Even in a different facility, care continuity is possible because of the ease of sharing information to the benefit of the patient.
Nursing informatics also supports better service delivery to the patients by facilitating true interdisciplinary care
Through nursing informatics the nurse becomes the centre, the bridge between the patient and other clinicians in charge of his treatment. In essence, all communication can be passed through the nurse avoiding incidences where other team members are unaware of what the other is doing. Furthermore, progress reports can be made to the team through the nurse. This is especially an ideal scenario where patients are getting discharged. The nurse simply needs to coordinate communication with the team, understand the requirements of the discharge from each member and then transition the patient out of hospital care.
CONCLUSION
Nursing informatics employs a variety of tools to make the nursing process much easier and simpler. For the patients it means better and faster service. The nurses do not need to write down notes with every round, trace the note with much difficulty before administering care. Nursing informatics allows the nurses to record vital data in the present and share the information easily. Of course with the introduction of nursing informatics, the role of the nurses and the process of nursing itself is likely to undergo changes. The changes may bring about temporary challenges for the nurses, but such challenges can be easily overcome. Once mastered, nursing informatics can completely overhaul the nursing profession making it a profession renowned for efficient and quality. It is also important to note that the systems developed for nursing informatics are easy to master and quite user friendly. They do not take attention away from the patient; in fact they are more likely to bring focus on the patients.

Collapse by Jared Diamond: Part Four
One of the main issues tackled in this part is the impact of globalization on the business world. He explains that globalization has made it possible for materials to move beyond borders. It has allowed for market expansion and development of unlikely continents, which possibly without the concept of globalization would have remained under-developed for a long time. However, the globalized system has brought several problems, op among them being that economies are now completely linked. The collapse of one economy could eventually lead to the collapse of several economies. For instance, an increase in the price of oil in the production regions could indeed cripple all economies. Also, the newly developing countries are facing even more misuse and exploitation of their natural resources as they try to meet the demand of the other nations. Countries that were beautiful and had high deposits of natural resources and minerals are diminishing the said resources faster than the same is being produced.

Diamond also shows concern that international trade has opened doors for increased and expansion of international crime. Criminals take advantage of countries whose laws are more lenient to expand their criminal empires. Drugs and human trafficking have expanded to other borders, with countries that are yet to catch up in terms of laws and regulations suffering the most.
The desire to become like other societies, Diamond points out in the first part of part four, is one of the reasons for their collapse. He shows how societies are often lured to participate in foreign trade, to bring their goods to the market, and take aid from other countries for development. While these decisions seem ideal in the short run, they are disastrous in the long run. In the pursuit to meet the market needs and pay off the aid given to them, countries over-exploit their resources and soon run out of their natural resources.
However, it should not be assumed that countries are not aware of the problems they are failing as Diamond shows, they are indeed aware and attempt to find solutions t some of the problems in society. Unfortunately, many of the solutions they seek are not sustainable. In fact, many of the solutions sought are only short-term, and though they seem to be working for a short duration, failure is almost always guaranteed. It seems that the societies, fail to perceive some of the challenges and problems that come from the short term solutions.
The environment and the businesses
Diamond summarizes what he has explained in the last chapters, the collapse of society following misuse of environmental resources. In this part, though he focuses on the growth of large businesses and the impact they have had on the environment. For example, the exploitation of oil reserves has become a booming business, with the oil companies focused on only one objective: to make more money in a short period. Competition drives the companies to mine, even more, exploiting the resources without interest in the future generations. These extreme cases of harvesting oil using crude methods interfere with future production. In future, the access to oil will be very limited. This decrease in the production of oil has caused a rise in the price of fossil fuel, a fundamental requirement globally. With few companies monopolizing the production and distribution of oil and with their desire to make as much profit as possible, the cost of oil will be so high that it might be affordable to the rest of the world.
The continued resource extraction, without concern for future generations, will definitely become an issue in the future. Future generations may not have any resources to rely on. Diminishing forest resources, increased hard rock mining, and increased extraction of seafood, will put the future generation in businesses, and large companies are not monitored. This is in general agreement with many researchers, who believe that large multi-nationals have taken over and are running the economies and the future of nature reserves to the ground. Governments and international bodies need to take their responsibility seriously holding these multi-nationals accountable for their exploitation. The resources should be used in such a way that they remain sustainable even though this may actually mean a decrease in the profits for the company.
The polder world
The model popular among the Dutch seems like the most ideal solution to control large companies. This model includes a three-way relationship, between the employers’ representatives, the consumers, and the government. All parties must agree on what steps should be taken and how the companies can proceed. In the past, this model has been criticized heavily by politicians as the slowest decision-making process, sometimes being blamed for stagnation. However, as the rise of media and globalization becomes more apparent the polder model becomes easier and more necessary.
Economists have all agreed that bringing together all groups involved in the markets, educate and train each of them, to uphold their end of the bargain. When each of these facets cares for their environment and takes responsibility for the part they have played in the damage, and participate actively in the decision making process. Sustainable solutions can only be found when all members actively participate and uphold their end of the bargain. This means that all members of society are working hard towards ensuring that the natural resources are well cared for. If the most serious problems in the world are not tackled together as a society, then civilized societies will be faced with imminent destruction and collapse. The diamond indicates that without sustainable solutions, the collapse and destruction of the world and its resources will come even sooner than we imagine.
The fourth part of Diamond’s collapse book; not only summarizes some of the problems that he considers to be ailing the world; it also provides hope. It can be thought of like the light at the end of the tunnel. The world is not completely doomed there are ways to find the right solutions which can be used to bring back the fruitfulness and raise the societies within which we live in. This part shows that despite the dismal elements that seem to be facing society, Diamond still has a sense of hope that the future can be saved.

According to Kumar & Meenakshi (2011), customers evolve and their aspiration and needs change, which leads to them wanting services and products which are totally different from the ones they have been purchasing. For the brands to continue being relevant to its customers, they have to reposition themselves. Brands that have repositioned retain their key propositions, but also significantly change reflecting the changing aspirations and needs of their customers. Brands wants to continue remaining young, and therefore, they keep on reinventing themselves to be able to serve the ever-changing needs of their target customers. Over the years many famous brands have been repositioned to reflect changes in customer preferences (UMN, 2018). The paper will discuss product brands by providing examples of brands that recently have repositioned themselves and how they have accomplished this task.

According to Kumar & Meenakshi (2011), an owner is not just an investor, but I master at his or her own craft. Therefore, when such an individual relates to a brand, he also lends his or her personality to the brand. When Vijay Mallya bought Air Deccan, he imprinted it with some flamboyance that was associated with him. Although the brand may not substantially change, the perception of the customers about the brand changes.
4. Observation Exercise
In this exercise, I have identified dog training services to shop for from the following websites: petsmart.com and petco.com.
Generally, the two websites are accessible because they were ranking on the first page when I searched for the keywords “dog training services,” “dog grooming.” both two websites have a blue theme with hanging bars and a drop-down menu listing all the categories, making them well-organized. Moreover, they have an e-commerce layout, they are up to date, they are user friendly, and are very interactive. I believe the appearances of both websites influence my perception of the services because of the blue color which makes them look corporate. The website looks busy from their layout and the listing of the categories which inclines me to look past the home page for the other services and the products they were selling.
Petco has bigger fonts compared to PetSmart which has small fonts. Moreover, both sides are also easy to navigate around and to look for information. Both websites use attractive pictures too. I tried to order dog training services which I found very easy. However, PetSmart had an elaborate and well laid-out dog training program compared to Petco. They had individual classes that were further categorized into therapy dog training, puppy training, beginner training, intermediate training, advanced training, and many more. Moreover, which package had prices listed beside it as well as an easy checkout. Petco only had a few categories ranging from level one to party complete package. They had no buttons for adding to cart or for checking out with no elaboration on how to order for their services. However, they had a live chat system for contacting customer service while PetSmart lacked a chat system or email or phone number. In summary, I would choose PetSmart for dog training services from the way they have explained their services, easy checkout system, the white one is a sitting head of state the president of the republic, and the user-friendly nature of their website.

- This case study focuses on the identification of metastatic tissues — cells that are “out of place” causing tumors elsewhere in the Name the cells you identified in this sample of lung tissue and the main characteristics that you can use to distinguish them.
From the observation of the sample, there are a variety of cells that can be identified as melanocytes. The main characteristics that can be used in distinguishing them are their attachment to the stratified squamous epithelial tissue. Moreover, they are larger and darker compared to the surrounding calls. Melanocytes are densely packed and have only one nucleus.

I applied my histology knowledge from my lectures in distinguishing the features of different cells. I knew how melanocytes and the natural cells look like on a slide hence it was very easy to distinguishing and describing the cells. The cells under observations were abnormal from their look. They were larger in size, darker in color, and round. Moreover. Their nucleus was larger compared to the other nucleus of the normal cells and has less cytoplasm. The melanocytes on the slide are always darker compared to the normal cells. According to Garbe et al (2010), there exist significant differences between the tumor cells and the native cells since the tumor cells are widespread in the extracellular fluid, are larger, much darker, and more so cube-shaped. On the other hand, the native cells are packed densely, smaller, and elongated.

The article “Diagnosis and treatment of melanoma: European consensus-based interdisciplinary guideline” provided experimental illustrating melanoma components. This affirmed that native cells can be differentiated from the invasive cells by features such as arrangement, form, and color. The study used histology in identifying the invasive cells from the non-invasive ones (Garbe et al, 2010).
In the NIH article, “Diagnosis and treatment of early melanoma,” majorly the study was based on histology. The study distinguished fully developed melanoma and early melanoma by categorizing their histological features. Moreover, they identified melanoma stages and different types of melanoma with the application of histology (NIH et al, 1992).
In the third study, researcher physicians in two universities in three different melanoma cases of various origins in the body. However, all the characteristics of the abnormal cells were distinguished to be melanocytes. The identified abnormal features of the cells are similar to the ones in this case study, hence proving that the abnormal cells observed in the lung tissue were melanocytes (Sonda et al, 2008).
- What other findings or information in this case are consistent with the information you located? Name those similarities in each of your additional resources. How do these resources apply what you have learned about identifying tissues and cells histologically?
From the article I reviewed, there was a similarity with the case study in many areas. First, all the studies and the case used a similar method in diagnosing melanoma. They applied the cell’s histological characteristics in determining their status whether they are non-invasive or invasive cells. The characteristics identified helped in the classification of the cells and in determining their origin.
- What findings or information in each of the additional resources are not consistent with the findings in this case? Name those differences in each of your additional resources. How do these resources apply what you have learned about identifying tissues and cells histologically?
In the article “Diagnosis and treatment of early melanoma,” the study asserted that the cells making melanoma were the stratified melanoma epithelium (NIH et al, 1992). This contradicts the results of the case
- If your proposed resolution of the case is correct, what other observations might we expect to find in this case?
Other observations we might find include metastasis of the tumor to other organs hence the patients could suffer from other compounded problems like neurological problems, digestion, and bleeding.

I would rate my confidence at 5 out of 5 because of the observable characteristics of melanoma
- In considering your resolution and level of confidence level from question 8, describe how you located the information you used in this case.
To begin the search, I started with the most comprehensive database that is the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (NINAH) (Kennedy 2009). The search then continued to search engines such as the British Nursing Index, MEDLINE. Moreover, PubMed and NCBI were other major search engines which assisted some of the relevant articles. These search engines were used because they contained most of the peer review articles and books. To limit and narrow down the search for articles, internal searches of the databases were used by inserting the full length of texts and searching the relevant articles from the list of journals displayed. Moreover, I limited myself to the current articles of up to 5 years
What you might do differently if you had it to do over again? For example, would you use different resources and strategies? Different information?
First, I would use different relevant articles to make companions of different studies. Moreover, I would try using group work to get the opinions and arguments of different group members
