Social Entrepreneurship and U.N. Sustainable Development Goals

One of the ways in which the United Nations is trying to meet its sustainable development goals is through supporting social entrepreneurs. Like any other kind of entrepreneur, social entrepreneurs are motivated by profit, but they try to earn that profit by solving community problems and being a benefit to society. Social entrepreneurs use many different approaches to solve such problems, such as microfinancing for the poor, educational programs, and building stores in food deserts. The United Nations is supporting social entrepreneurs from all over the world to mentor and train them, supply them with legal advice, and facilitate their access to financing.
