The relationship between Athena and Odysseus can be specifically be described as friendly, devoted, full of love and close. Despite the fact that Athena was the goddess of wisdom and war, she appears to Odysseus frequently when he is alone to reveal to him her will. Friendliness and caring are shown when Athena talks to Odysseus as if they are old friends. Perhaps thus places Odysseus a little higher compared to the rest of the human race. Back to Ithaca, Athena and Odysseus have a conversation and Athena says “who always stands beside you, shield you in every exploit: thanks to me the Phaeacians all embraced you warmly” (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p, 341-343). This shows the friendliness, care, and the status level Odysseus was placed compared to other human race. Athena also provides inspiration to Odysseus clever ideas, for instance, the Trojan horse. Odysseus implies that the daughter of Zeus inspired him by asserting “some god breathed enormous courage through us all” (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p, 426).

The relationship between Athena and Odysseus can also be described as filled with love from Athena. Athena’s intentions are unclear towards Odysseus throughout the odyssey. Despite the fact it is repeated continuously that Poseidon is preventing Odysseus returning home, one of the reasons why, Odysseus stayed away for twenty years from Ithaca might be because of Athena’s love for him. Evidence indicated that Athena is in love with Odysseus and this can be one of the reasons why she delayed the journey of the Achaeans from Troy (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p, 376), and the reason why she helped him to get home. Menelaus stated that the reason Odysseus was prevented from coming back home was because of the jealousy of Athena, “but god himself, jealous of all this, no doubt robbed that unlucky man of the day of his return” (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p, 201-203).Moreover, zees also seems to be aware of Athena’s feelings towards Odysseus and clearly show that he notices the intentions of her daughter by repeating throughout that “come now, wasn’t the plan your own?” in the epic (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p. 25-26).
Athena is seen complaining to Zeus, when Odysseus is in the calypso island that her “hear heart breaks for Odysseus” (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p. 57). She laments and emphasize that king Odysseus is in pain, and that Calypso is attempting to “spellbind his heart with suave, seductive words” (Homer, Lombardo, & Homer, 2000 p, 67) and that Odysseus is very far from his loved one. This portrayal of love in their relationship is further demonstrated when Athena never at any given time argues that Odysseus should be granted an opportunity to live happily with his wife or even mention the name of Odysseus’ wife, Penelope. It is clear that the heart of Athena is breaking because she loves Odysseus and she is jealous of calypso that one day she might win Odysseus’ heart, or that he may never accept the offer of calypso, which imply that Odysseus only loves Penelope
In conclusion, the relationship between Athena and Odysseus was friendly and full of love, care, devotion, and closeness. Throughout Odysseus’ journey, Athena stood and protected him out of love and friendship.

If one day Gump gets into an argument with the developer and refuses to do any work until the problem is solved, in this particular case, Alabama Sports Marketing can seek the contract’s specific performances. This is so because, where two individuals have signed a contract, every involved personnel should see that the agreements in it adhere to the latter (Trompenaars & Hampden-Turner, 2011). In cases where one individual in the contract acts in a different way against the contract, this is always considered a contract breach. It is also named breach of contract when one individual in the contract does not perform his required duties without the required legal excuse. In this particular case, Gump and Alabama Sports Marketing had an agreement that no matter what, Gump should take part in the marketing activities and help as the model of CGI. The agreement they had indicated that in cases where there was a breach of contract in any way by Gump, this could result in liquidated destructions that could make him pay. Therefore, when Gump refuses to take part in any duties after having disagreements with the developers, this kind of action can be considered as a contract breach. Alabama Sports, on the other hand, has followed the contract to the latter and therefore they can pursue enforcement from the court as Gump is breaching the contract. Alabama Sports can therefore the performance of the contract because Gump had agreed to be Computer Generated model when it came to video games and he was not respecting his end of the deal. He is expected to perform marketing activities and his refusal to corporate is not good for the business, therefore, Alabama Sports will incur some losses which can be avoided so pursuing law enforcement can be the only way out.

In this particular situation of Gump and Alabama Sports Marketing, the clause may be considered valid or not. This is because the information that has been given to us does not indicate what the estimation of sales would be if the game reached completion. It however shows that Gump would be given a net profit of 20%. When we take a look at the given information, I would agree that yes there would be an enforcement of the clause in the case where Gump refuses to play his role assigned on the contract. It is therefore advisable for Gump to think very well before he refused to respect his end of the contract.

The judicial system carries a lot of power when it comes to determining the state and environment within which the state operates. However, as has been proven often, the high court holds the ultimate power in determining the political environment. The take up of decisions to the Supreme Court is often dependent on three factors. To begin with the case must carry virtual importance and therefore disputants and their advisors are aware of the possibility of the Supreme Court. Secondly, the courts must be willing and able to take up the case. Third disputants need to be aware of the benefits of pursuing cases into the higher courts. Such pursuance includes high risk, in terms of time and resources.

When it comes to proposed legislations, the government is often more concerned with the high court decisions rather than attempts by Supreme Court judges to explain the decision to the masses. Often, Supreme Court judges take time to break down the law and legislation. (Green and Sanford 1990) cite that the terms equal justice under law which often appear on the main entrance of the supreme court require that all citizens served by the court understand and are given the opportunity to inter[ret the law and legislature for themselves. Traditionally as (Hearly 1996) states, the Supreme Court represented the voice of the people. The strength of the court relied mostly on the people who were committed towards ensuring that the constitution not only worked but was in fact fully sufficient. The representative system of the Supreme Court has been duplicated in many countries including the colonized nations. However, until recently America was the only nation that had successfully organized the judiciary so that the power of the Supreme Court was constituted by all people. However, in the recent past majority of the critics have felt that the Supreme Court has become a political gimmick. Judges of the Supreme Court are appointed by the ruling party and are therefore often thought to be affiliates of the ruling party. They in fact play a role in the campaigns, are often used to shield and maintain political power. Even where appointments have been transparent, the citizens often feel that they are puppets of the political dynasties. It is therefore often thought that as they are presenting and explaining legislature, they are only doing so in favor of the government. In addition, because they are appointees of the government, it follows therefore that the government would not concern itself greatly with their opinions. The high courts on the other hand are not only maintained by the citizens, they are ideally thought to be independent. Citizens often think of and imagine that the high courts are independent judiciary often making decisions without the support of the government. Because such judges enjoy their reputation as independent decision makers they are often inclined to interpret legislature so that it does not border with political and government agenda. This is therefore a major concern for the government whose agenda is often derailed from such decisions by the high court.
(Solomon 1990) highlights that the Supreme Court authority to make legislation constitutional or unconstitutional come from executive decisions. The government executive plays a major role in the Supreme Court decisions and hence the concern for such decisions in the government is lessened. Often Supreme Court judges have found their roles to be slightly confusing and conflicting. On the one hand, they are expected to be independent in their own decisions often chatting new paths for executive orders and legislature. On the other hand, the same judges are expected to uphold the constitution which in itself is a mandate of the government. The high court on the other hand is mandated to uphold the rights of the citizens and protect their freedom thereof. When a high court declares legislation unconstitutional, the court brings forth reasons why such legislature may infringe on the rights and freedom of the citizens. Often and in many cases, the Supreme Court is forced to uphold the decisions of the high court rather than amend. This is why matters of the constitution and changes in legislature often cause much more uproar when in high court rather than when in the Supreme Court.
(Solomon 1990) indicated that when it comes to matters of legislature, the government and supporters of the government often strive to have the decisions made in high court. Whereas there maybe some political reasons that are the foundation of such decisions, in many cases it’s all about cost and time. The high court is often quick in the process of decision making. Decisions are made quickly and within the duration of the government. Supreme Court cases on the other hand are quite slow, with judges taking less than ten times. When Supreme Court judges find time to explain legislature, it turns into a battle of wills and minds. Each of the judges often takes an extreme stand on either side. The result is some endless debates which tend to be confusing, time consuming and even costly. The government could easily complete its term before any decision is made. On the other hand, high court decisions though inclusive of intelligence debates and a clash of minds, they are faster. Citizens and voters are more likely to follow high court rulings and they are often quoted in the debate of legislature. They can easily make or break the rulership and authority of a government, hence the concern by the government.
(Taylor-Butler 2008) wrote that the functions of the high court are far more superior often representing the will of the people in legislature and judiciary, as opposed to the supreme court which often represents the will of the people within a particular period. The high court has the responsibility of ensuring the strength and sanctity of the legislature while the Supreme Court is often more focused on the sanctity of the executive. A Supreme Court judge is often viewed as the voice box of the executive rather than the decision of the people. Despite the strength in the background of the Supreme Court, it has become evident that the interpretation of legislature is not the strength of the supreme judges. The nature of the Supreme Court is such that it is aloof from the very people it is supposed to protect. Very few Americans understand the importance, role and even nature of the Supreme Court. It remains the utopia of the judiciary system. The high court on the other hand is available to the state citizens who often take the decisions made here as law. The government therefore is often scrambling to contain what a large percentage of the judiciary considers an untamed lion in the system.
(Geyh 2008) cites a case when a former chief justice, John Jay declined to elaborate and explain the importance of a particular foreign policy to the then president, George Washington. The policy came into play and was challenged because of major controversies that came into light following such implementation. In this case, the Supreme Court was found to have been constitutionally limited to deal with the controversies arising from the policy. On the other hand, the high court when presented with the case was able to make decisions, deem the policy unconstitutional. Based on the example, he shows that the power of the Supreme Court and the authority therefore is limited by the same constitution it is expected to protect.

Question 1
Customer service is a semi-variable cost.
Customers who share their negative feedback or customer experiences online on social Medias reach a wider audience daily. Therefore, it is important that business to satisfy their customers or keep them happy. According to GWU (n.d), an average business does not hear from about 96% of their dissatisfied or unhappy customers. Moreover, for every received complaint, there are about 24 people with problems that are unvoiced, of which six are serious. More than 90% who are unhappy or dissatisfied with the services will not come back or buy again (GWU. n.d). Out of the customers who complain, about 50%-70% of them will come back or do nosiness if the issue is addressed. Moreover, if the matter is resolved quickly, 95% will return. Averagely a customer who has a complaint tells 9-10 people, and about 13% will tell others more than 20. However, those who had a complaint but was resolved tell 5 people (GWU, n.d).

Direct costs are attributed directly to coupon discounts in Groupon and YouTube and are involved directly in the expenses. Indirect costs are not attributed directly to an objects costs. They are typically allocated on some basis to a cost of the coupon of Groupon and YouTube (GroupFocus, 2015).
The costing system for Groupon is referred to as Selling, General and Admin (SGA) expense that includes both direct and indirect costs with all the company’s administrative and general expenses of the company. For example, advertising, personal cost, communication cost, rent and other parts of SGA (GroupFocus, 2015).
The traditional cost management system at a manufacturing company involves both direct costs which includes the costs of labor, materials, and equipment. However, the indirect costs are also involved but benefit many projects ().

Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) is the value or net profit prediction a business will get from their relationship with a customer (Kumar, 2008). CLV is important because it encourages businesses to shift their focus from the profits they get quarterly to the long term health of their relationships with their customers. A community-based organizations that deal with environmental conservation can benefit from sustainability reporting. These organizations are good candidates because they have an environmental impact by conserving environment, economic impact by creating employment to local people. I. Sandbagger- presents a business plan that is less ambitious and is exceeding expectations. The board of directors of the company or the proprietors should demand feasibility of the budget with workable facts from the sandbagger
II. Magician- in business they cover up faults by leaving outs facts that are uncomfortable conveniently. The proprietors should sanction a magician manager for covering some facts that might be detrimental to the business
III. The loan agent- they believe and contend that the corporate budget cannot conform to their business because it is presumed unique character. The loan agent should be advised to bring a budget that is within the financial capability of the company
IV. The visionary- these managers lack numbers and often appeal to emotions. They shod be encouraged and supported as they can take a company to a higher levels
V. The hostage takers- these claim that if they are given a significant proportion of the corporate capital available, they can deliver immediate significance improvement in performance. Their track record should be evaluated before business investing in their proposals since it might be just a mere exaggerations (MIT, n.d)

It reaches a point when employees keep asking themselves what is in for them-what they stand to gain from their exclusive job performance. Research shows that from the minute they ask themselves that question, they lose focus, concentrate on misplaced priorities and begin to underperform bringing the organization down. Under such circumstances, the organization ought to shift its focus to employee motivation and that is when psychological research findings and theories on work motivation become assets. This paper discuses work motivation theories by different researchers, their usefulness in solving employee motivation problems along with developing the well-being of employees.
Some organizations hire I/O psychologists that assists in solving problems employees face and the organization as a whole by using their research of human behavior in the work place. Katzenbach (2000) points out that I/O psychologist play a crucial role in the success of the organization and the business as it turns out that the business success does not only depend on high profits but a number of factors, employees’ performance being a major determinant. Katzenbach (2000) goes further, to demonstrate how I/O psychologists apply theories of work motivation to create an environment that is favorable for healthy development of each individual and maximization of each individual’s potentials.
Research by Scheuer (2000) shows that motivation involves understanding human nature and goes ahead to clarify that it is a skill that can be developed. Different researchers have come up with theories referred to as psychodynamic theories. These theories emphasize mutual human traits, job content theories and job context theories (Katzenbach, 2000). Scheuer (2000) adds that as much as these theories are many they all reflect the human behavior at the work place and are related in a way. There are traditional theories- X and Y – proposed by Douglas Mc Gregor with theory X assuming that humans do not like work, responsibility therefore must be forced or controlled or punished, directed to achieve organizations objectives while theory Y makes conflicting assumptions.
In light of recent research, researchers came up classical and modern theories of workers motivation which include, the Process Theory which according to Pinder (2008) says that managers should change the focus from needs to goals and processes by which workers are motivated. It places attention on the dynamics of how the major variables which are individual’s driving force, incentive, expectancy and reinforcement that explains behavior are interrelated in explain the direction, degree and persistent of effort (Pinder, 2008), Content theory that focuses on the specific factors that motivate an individual to work. They identify people’s needs and their relative strengths assuming that everyone responds in the same way to motivating pressures.
Other theories are, Adams equality theory which suggests that a feeling of inequality is determined majorly by the manner in which an individual’s interprets the situation (Pinder, 2008), Handy theory of calculus which suggests that each person has a motivational calculus in respect to every decision they make. It weighs needs, desired results and expenditure factors implying that each individual would be motivated if they knew exactly what is expected of them, participate in setting the targets in accordance with personal objectives and measure their performance by evaluating feedbacks concerning their work as explained by Scheuer (2000), Porter and Lawler’s theory that tend to explain the relationship between the amount of effort generated and the value of the reward, the amount of effort seen to be necessary and the probability of receiving the reward (Pinder, 2008) and, David Mc Clelland’s theory identified need for achievement, affiliation that is concerned with maintaining pleasant social relationship and need for power.
Lastly, Herzberg’s theory of motivation which suggests that there exists set of factors that if lacking leads to dissatisfaction which are related to job context and concerned with the job environment and, are exclusive to the job itself called hygiene which include, company policies and admirations, supervisons,working condition, interpersonal relations and money status and security. Moreover, there are other set of factors if present leads to motivation. They are referred to as motivating factors include and are related to the job content that include achievement, challenging work, increased responsibility, recognition for achievements and growth and development (Pinder, 2008).
Research conducted by Scheuer (2000) indicates that the theories of work motivation have been applied and has had positive impact. Therefore they could be applied by managers to help promote a healthy working environment for all the employee for the success of the organization as well as the well-being of the employees. Implementations of these theories is challenging though vital and have been implemented by most productive and successful companies (Katzenbach, 2000). Most of these theories suggests that employees could be motivated by positive reinforcement, effective discipline and punishment criteria, and fair treatment of all employees to eliminate conflicts that may arise as a result of inequality, satisfying employee needs, setting work related goals, base rewards on job performance and restructuring jobs.
Katzenbach (2000) says that researchers conducted their research by interviewing employees to find out their driving force at work others used questionnaires and complained their findings based on the respondents answers. Pinder (2008) says other researchers picked different organizations and observed the employees’ behavior in regard to their motivational factors drawing conclusion from their analysis and evaluation of these employees. In addition, some researchers gathered information concerning the employees past records and evaluated behavior by psychoanalysis, or by psychotherapy or by administering personality performance or intelligent tests. Some researchers used all the methods in order to come to a valid conclusion as not all methods are effective (Katzenbach, 2000).
Pinder (2008) says that if the work motivation theories are applied appropriately then it would contribute to the well- being of the individual workers as they all focus on promoting healthy development, productivity and creativity. This results to a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. The individual also develops a peaceful mind that in turn assists in reducing chances of stress thus promoting good health.
In conclusion, motivation of workers is imperative for the organization or a business as it promotes productivity and creativity that results to organizational growth and success. Therefore, the application of work motivation theories ought to be taken into consideration and if possible the organization should hire an I/O psychologist to help in the interpretation as well as implementation of these theories. The strategies that would be useful in motivating workers include, treating employees fairly, rewarding employees based on their performance and acknowledging the efforts of employees in developing the organization among others. The theories if implemented promote the healthy development and the well- being of each individual for the benefit of the organization.

According to RCG (2018), work ethics are values on the moral virtues of diligence and hard work. Values are things that you believe in firmly, something that you hold in high regard. This paper will argue that work ethic in today’s society has declined. In the school setting, a solid work ethic is also appearing to be dwindling in the setting of the schools. For instance, schoolchildren today do not spend enough time preparing for their exams and completing homework assignments. On the work ethic in jobs, some people want to make a lot of money without working hard or investing much of their time into their jobs. However, this attitude does not apply to every society member. Many people invest much time and effort to earn their money or grades through hard work and diligence. Their work ethic is admirable and is something that they should be proud of.

They then start fidgeting through the shift until things start slowing down then they start texting their friends or updating their social media from their smartphones (Schawbel, 2011). These sentiments are also echoed by Winget (2007). He pointed out that several workers today spend much of that time taking long lunch breaks and surfing the internet. However, several young employees in this generation will also say they carry their blackberries and smartphones along with them all the time, and their social life and work life are intertwined as compared to their parents, who will depart from work at the end of the working day and stop their work there.
In most instances, these ambitious and bright new employees would perceive work as something to be avoided or as a necessary evil that needs to be endured before landing a spot on a reality TV show, winning a lottery, getting a high-paying office accompanied with a corner office, or getting cushy at an expense account. These arguments are supported by a survey done by Pew Research Center in February 2010. The survey findings proved that today’s generation does not identify with their work ethic. The study findings indicated the millennial generation has a distinctive and unique identity. Ethics was pointed out as one of the distinctive characteristics by at least 10% of the 3 older generations (Schawbel, 2011).
According to RCG (2018), many people in the society of today no longer understand the meaning of hard work. Individuals focus on the benefits of their work to the employer. Instead, the majority are entirely focused on what their work will do for them. Driven by the natural tendencies of laziness and greed, the only reason many go to work is for the benefits they will accrue from that job with a minimum amount of effort used. It has been stated, “nothing really works unless an individual will instead be doing something else.” Many people in today’s society have never been taught or have forgotten the benefits of working hard. People of this generation no longer get or enjoy work and normally wish they were doing something else somewhere. These assertions mirror a narrative by Winget (2007), who talked about his father’s experience, who worked for 47 years for the same company and never questioned whether he was happy. He was going to work and getting his pay, which was the deal he signed when he joined the workforce. Times have significantly changed in the past century. It was the great-grandparents of this country who underwent the two world wars. And they also understood the significance of working hard. They also understood if they did not work hard, they would not survive.
In conclusion, today’s work ethic seems different compared to the work ethic in the past. As pointed out by Winget (2007 <paperpile.com/b/eg3SHe/TCUA>), many employees in the society of today spend much of that time surfing the internet while at work. Their social and work lives are interwoven, making them not do their job during working hours. Therefore, they carry their social life into the workplace, making the companies they work for suffer, and then carry their work home making their families suffer. As candidly suggested, when you are at work, work. When you are at home, enjoy yourself.
