ABSTRACT

Employee Resource Groups have been in evolution since their inception in the 1960’s. They are found within the organization groups, filled with employee volunteers. Initially known as affinity groups, they started when there was an escalation in racial tension in the United States, with an aim of promoting diversity and inclusion. In recent times, they have now become inclusive of organizational challenges like leadership development, innovation and change management, which should be enough reason to have more than enough academic research on the issue.
