Slaughterhouse-Five, also known as The Children’s Crusade, is a semi-autobiography that satirically responds to World War II. Kurt Vonnegut wrote the novel and it happens some of the events mentioned in the novel happened to him in real life. Slaughterhouse Five gives a life story of Billy Pilgrim who works as an American Army chaplain during WWII.
Billy has no training whatsoever for security or fighting when he goes into battle with his buddies because he doesn’t want kill anyone but ends up captured anyways by Germans where they torture him severely which leads back home after losing two legs from frostbites before being able to be set free on account that America won against Germany’s ruling power so there was nothing else left tying
