The past of prison sentencing in the United States is very exhaustive and incorporates different periods. Sentencing is a crucial aspect of the criminal justice method. It is the penalty offenders receive when they are sentenced to a crime. The punishment range is extensive and enormous, fluctuating from trial to bereavement. Notably, prison sentencing is advantageous because; it makes prisoners change, it prevents individuals in the society from putting up with intolerant behavioral several lawbreakers, and it protects individuals against those people who refuse to abide by the law.

The perception that we are entitled to use prisons to show that definite forms of behaviors will not be endured, and to defend ourselves against individuals who refuse to abide by the law. This has become the strategy place that dare not talk about it. Once criminals are taken to the prison they stay away from the rest of society. That way individuals who reside in the society will not be dealing with bad behaviors. Additionally, they will not be forced to tolerate bad behaviors. Therefore prison sentencing is good to society.
There is no doubt that people who stay in prison change. Keen, & Apt, (2016) states that they might experience a spiritual change, overcome a drug custom or experience a revolt in their styles that change their actions. Getting married is the greatest method out of crime for young menfolk. Once someone is married they have a responsibility of taking care of their families that way they will not even have time to commit crime. Marrying will play a better role towards transformation of young men for the benefit of the society.
On the same note, increasing the number of jails would be of great advantage to us. The home-based office approximations that the average criminal obligates 140 crimes within a period of twelve months. If we double the prison populace from 70,000 to 140, 000, we would be guarding the public form more than ten million crimes (Sykes 2007). That means prisons play an important role in protecting the rest of society. The advantage of such a strategy is so clear that it is hard to think of a counter-argument. This makes no adjustment because the criminal justice system is run by individuals who don’t mean to consider the likelihood.
Some scholars argue that prison sentencing put prisoners to high risk of death. While in the prison, prisoners can be hurt by their fellow prisoners. For example, there was a case that was reported mid last year that prison was found dead while inside the prison. The cause of death was not realized because all prisoners enter the prison without any harmful tool. The surprise of the police the prisoner had been hugged. That is enough evidence that prison sentencing is not one of the best punishment methods (Keen, & Apt, 2016).
But, I strongly believe that prison sentencing is among the best methods of punishing criminals because we can never rule out prison sentencing because of one incident that only happened to one prisoner. Those entrusted with reforming criminals play a great role in protecting criminals from their fellow criminals. The society cannot afford to rule out prison sentencing because individuals will keep committing offenses knowing that nothing can be done to them. In my option, criminals should always be taken to prison as a way of disciplining them. Evidently, prison sentencing is more advantageous you cannot compare its advantages to its disadvantages in any way.
There is an increased warning effect of growing in extended prison sentences is uncertain at best. Since reoffending rates reduce evidently with age, extended prison verdicts, except they precisely target very high –rate or tremendously hazardous criminals are an inefficient tactic to averting crime by prostration.
