Chinese Family Theory Influencing Human Culture

Culture as a trend is something of human creation practiced by and concerned every person and all individuals collectively. It is comprised, displayed, expressed, and developed in human communication of different types and forms as individuals respond to and adjust to their social and natural environment. Communication is by large shaped and constrained in all features, carried on and initiated. Communication and culture are intertwined to result in the aphorism, stating that “culture is communication and communication is culture.” Thus, this essay will explore how the Chinese family theory has influenced human communication in regards to the Chinese family theory being more conversation-oriented and the Chinese style of Communication being shaped by rapid economic growth.

Notably, the communication patterns of the Chinese family in connection to their theory are more conversation-oriented than conformity-oriented, as well as the accommodating and the collaborating styles are the family most idealists and the least preferred competing style to the human communication. Hence, the family members from conversation-oriented families are highly liked to involve the collaborating style with a less likelihood of using the collaborating style, whereas the individuals from conformity-oriented families are likely to involve the competing style, which is found in their family theory, with a less likelihood of using the collaborating style (Fan, 2013). For a fact, most Chinese families are more contented with the conversation orientation compared to conformity orientation as well as accommodating, compromising, and collaborating styles found in their family theory, which influences human communication.

Regardless of conversation-oriented family communication theory, according to research conducted on Chinese communication with concerns of understanding how the Chinese family theory has influenced human communication, it showed that the three decades of China rapid progress in economy and the unprecedented associations across the world have resulted to development of a style of Chinese communication, that has a huge difference from the traditional communication form (Braxton, 2015). Consequently, through this Chinese economic progress connected to the family theory, human communication has been adversely affected.

Succinctly, the Chinese family theory in connection to culture has been a trending issue across the world due to its influence on human communication. This influence has been brought up by the Chinese rapid economic growth that led to their styles of communication and the Chinese family having a preference for the conversation-oriented style, which impacts on human communication.
