Example of National Honor Society Essays
For one to be chosen to join the national honor society (NHS), it is a requirement that they are vetted. In my case, the choice of joining the national honor society was a choice that was made by my teachers and other individuals in the leadership of the school. Their choice meant that I had attained the one goal that I yearned. They believed in me as the right candidate because of the determination that I am willing to engage in activities that will help people and provide full service to the community. I have total confidence that I have the capability of turning out as the most useful member of the national honor society basing on the fact that I am a critical thinker, honest and hardworking in any task that I undertake. Furthermore, I have all the required qualifications that are required for one to be given this particular scholarship under NHS which is a prestigious organization in the United States of America. For one to be chosen as a member of the national honor society, it is a necessity that they possess leadership and abilities to offer outstanding services to the community.
The success that I got in academics was a product of the hard work that I dedicated to my education. This was an important milestone in my life as it created a bridge for me to cross and join a society that will train me on how to be a better leader and be in a position whereby others can deduce good morals from me. My high scores in education have depicted to my teacher, parents and myself that I am able to turn my dreams into a reality. One of the dreams that I have always had is to be a member of the national honor society. Furthermore, I ensured that all sat for all the honor courses and exams in my entire high school period while I was studying as an elementary student. Also, in the course of high school studies, I took part in numerous academic competitions in which I often scored high positions whether individually or in teams.
Despite the fact that I have been a dedicated student in education and competitions, I also played other roles in the wellbeing of the school. I loved sports since I was a child and participated in many sports activities. I can attest that most of my leadership and organizational skills are a result of my participation in sports activities while in school. I became a leader in most of the activities that were carried out in school, and as a result, I was considered among the most valuable and honored students. I can also attest that my personal characteristics or rather traits are what make me attain the trust and confidence of my colleagues and even teachers and members of the society. Many people who have been in my life will agree that I am an honest, reliable and also an open-minded individual. In my life, I have learned the things needed to solve problems and different kinds of conflicts that are necessary among leaders. I have always used my abilities to help my fellow students whenever they are in need.
Therefore, it is a common notion that the skills that I possess are useful in many ways. These skills are not only important within the school environment, but on the other hand, they can be used in community service which is an integral thing to society. One of the things that I consider imperative and have always done every year to ensure that the society is a better place to live is through conducting frequent visits to hospitals. During these visits, I buy flowers and other types of gifts that I give to patients. Also, I spend some of the time during the visits to talk with the patients and give them hope since I consider hope to be the driving force behind human beings. Carrying out this activity has turned out a tradition for me since I was a child. I have always thought that it is my role as a member of a community to act morally and do well to the unfortunate and in this way, I will be a role model to others.
In conclusion, my acceptance to join NHS is a God-given gift that will see me advance my skills in leadership and make the society a better place. From the teachings that I will learn through my scholarship, I will be able to have something to show the society of how human beings can make up for the small mistakes that are often done and make the society the best place for the current generation and many more future generations to come. For one to be able to join the NHS, it is important that they value human life and always try to do good to the community. Hard work too is a necessity as fruitful results are drawn from hard work and dedication.
