Political controls works much better when boundaries need the collaboration of other authorities or states to ensure the safety of the people. In the above mentioned situation the state has a role to maintain peace by recognizing the validity of another independent state.

A good example is the current social and political push for products that are more environment friendly as compared to those that are not. An essential part in analyzing the threats of a company has to involve a look at the strengths of its competitors.
